Anthropic Culture Interview Questions
Anthropic publishes seven values on its careers page, and one dedicated round at the onsite reads against all of them. It is usually called the Values round. Non-technical interviewers run it, separate from the coding panel, and it is the most common reason a technically strong engineer leaves without an offer. The rubric for it stays private. So read the question wordings below as representative of how the themes get asked. Nobody reads them from a script. The themes are stable. The phrasing shifts by interviewer.
Anthropic says less about its loop than Meta or Google does, so a handful of facts carry more weight and the safe move is to read them cautiously. What comes through clearly is the shape. The mission gets probed at the recruiter screen, again with the hiring manager, and most deeply in the Values round. The seven values supply the axes. Those seven, verbatim, are Act for the global good, Hold light and shade, Be good to our users, and Ignite a race to the top on safety. The other three are Do the simple thing that works, Be helpful honest and harmless, and Put the mission first. The company is a Public Benefit Corporation with a Long-Term Benefit Trust, not a B Corp. Getting that detail right is one small way you signal you have engaged with the company and not just the brand.
