Cisco keeps its behavioral read quiet. Rather than boxing fit into one scored round, it folds the read into the conversations you are already having. It shows up first at the recruiter screen, where motivation and cultural fit are a threshold you clear, not a scored component. Then it returns in the onsite as a Leadership and Behavioral segment, usually one or two conversations with the hiring manager or a panel of senior engineers. There is no Amazon-style values gauntlet. Underneath every one of those conversations is a company that treats working well with other people as the center of the job. It listens hard for it.
That shapes what to prepare. Cisco does not hand interviewers a numbered values sheet to grade you against, so do not prep as though it does. What the company does have, introduced in fiscal 2025, is a set of three Guiding Principles that name what it says it cares about. Think Really Big is about curiosity, learning fearlessly, and taking smart risks. Play to Win is about being real and coachable, speaking up, debating, then committing, and executing with urgency and accountability. Drive Durable Growth is about customer outcomes, "One Cisco" platform thinking, and connecting your work to the purpose. Under all of it sits the line Cisco has led with since 2020: "Power an Inclusive Future for All." Read these as the register to echo, not a script to recite. The six themes below map onto them cleanly. Teamwork and giving back sit under Drive Durable Growth and the purpose, conflict and deadlines under Play to Win, innovation under Think Really Big. Let the principle show through the story instead of naming it in the room.
