Values Questions by Theme
HubSpot's behavioral round does not run off a fixed, public list of questions, so the reliable way to prepare is by theme. Candidate reports establish the round's shape and framing well: a hiring-manager-led STAR conversation of roughly 45 to 60 minutes, scored against the Culture Code HEART values. The exact wording of any given prompt varies by manager. The prompt families below are grouped by what each one is really probing and mapped to the HEART value underneath. Those that decide the round get a full worked answer.
If you have not yet, read the HEART values round first for the five values and where the round sits in the loop. This lesson is the drill: the questions themselves, organized so you can walk in with a story for every theme rather than hoping the phrasing you rehearsed is the phrasing you get.
You are preparing stories, not answers. A single strong project usually covers three or four themes at once. You owned it (Remarkable) and pulled a teammate through a rough patch (Empathetic). You changed your approach when the evidence turned (Humble, Adaptable), and you flagged the risk in the open (Transparent). Pull four to six real situations from your own work, tag each to the themes below, and rehearse them aloud with a number on the result. That kit answers almost anything this round throws.
