Negotiating Your Palo Alto Networks Offer
A Palo Alto Networks offer has four parts, and two of them carry the weight. There is a base salary. There is a grant of restricted stock, the RSUs, quoted as a single dollar figure and vesting over four years. Then there is an annual bonus that is real but modest, and a sign-on that is a separate one-time cash top-up. Palo Alto Networks is a public company, listed on the Nasdaq as PANW. The stock in that grant is public stock, not startup paper waiting on an exit. A vested unit is a share you can sell at that day's price. So read the offer as base plus RSUs first, with the bonus and sign-on as smaller cash pieces around them. Then ask which parts bend under a counter.
