Behavioral Questions by Theme

Twitch runs Amazon's behavioral machine with its own set of Leadership Principles bolted on the front. So the questions below are not generic prompts. They are the actual "tell me about a time" questions Twitch has published in its own principle-by-principle bank. Each one is written to score a specific principle. The LP, short for Leadership Principle, is the trait an interviewer rates your story against. The questions inside a single group rhyme with each other. "A time you took on something outside your role" and "a time you traded short-term gain for long-term value" are two doors into the same Ownership story. The list looks long. The prep gets short once you notice how much the questions overlap.

Nine well-chosen stories cover this whole bank. Take one story about shipping a creator feature under a hard launch deadline. Open with the metric and it answers Deliver Results. Start from the part nobody asked you to own and it becomes Ownership. Frame it around the call you made on thin data and it scores Bias for Action. You build the nine stories once, then re-aim them. Whatever phrasing the interviewer reaches for, one of your stories is already waiting behind it.

Each group below names the principle it scores and adds a short "what it probes" line, the signal underneath the wording. For the full 15-principle list, the two Twitch-original principles, and how the older gamer-branded names map onto them, see the behavioral round breakdown. Rehearse every answer aloud, in STAR shape, at roughly two minutes. STAR runs Situation, Task, Action, Result, and most of your clock belongs in the last two. Saying a story is nothing like thinking it, and the rambling only shows up once you hear yourself do it.

The Twitch angle
The Leadership Principles are graded in every round, not fenced into one behavioral slot. The careers site says so outright: knowing and demonstrating the principles "can earn you bonus points during the interview process." Each interviewer is handed one or two principles to probe.
