Values Questions by Theme
The Values Interview is the round most candidates walk past on the way to grinding trees and rate limiters. It is also the one that quietly ends the most otherwise-strong loops. It runs about 45 minutes, conversational on the surface, scored underneath against Atlassian's five values by an interviewer who is deliberately not on the team you are joining. The overview lesson covers who runs it and why its scorecard carries the same weight as any technical round. This lesson assumes all of that and spends its time on what actually gets asked, grouped by the value each question reads against.
Two things to lock before the question bank. First, the five values in Atlassian's own wording: Open company, no bullshit; Build with heart and balance; Don't #@!% the customer; Play, as a team; Be the change you seek. The profanity in the third one is intentional and printed that way on Atlassian's own pages, so quote it as written. Softening it to "screw the customer" is a small tell that you skimmed the source. Second, these are values, not the Team Anywhere work model and not a rotating list. They have held steady since roughly 2007, so there is no stale-version trap to fall into. The only real risk is reciting a definition back instead of showing the behavior underneath it.
