Behavioral Questions by Theme
The behavioral round at Cloudflare has a name candidates use directly: the Orange Cloud round. The orange cloud is the dashboard icon that means a site's traffic is proxied through the network, protected and accelerated rather than pointed straight at its origin. The round borrows that name for the values conversation. It is reported as a tight, roughly 30-minute session, so you get fewer questions and each one goes deeper. This lesson assumes the overview, which lays out the mission, the three values, and the six capabilities, and spends its time on the questions themselves.
A note on how solid these wordings are before the list. Cloudflare says little publicly about how it runs the Orange Cloud round, and few candidates describe it in detail. Read the phrasings below as representative rather than as a script. The themes hold up across the accounts that exist even where exact wording will not, and they fall straight out of the values. The three are Principled, Curious, and Transparent, stated verbatim on the careers site. Underneath them sit six capabilities the company uses to give feedback and measure performance. They are: be curious to learn and grow, communicate clearly and transparently, do the right thing, embrace diversity, get your work across the finish line, and lead with empathy. Lead with the three values. Map each story to a capability. One trap to skip: content-mill sites that list "Integrity, Respect, Innovation, Impact" are inventing it. That is not Cloudflare's list, and reciting it flags stale prep.
