Heaps & Intervals
Heaps and intervals are the smaller of the coding buckets in this loop, but they sit under some of the most Roblox-shaped questions you will see. A heap is the tool when a round wants the best few of a large set that keeps moving, like the most-played experiences right now. An experience here is one of the millions of creator-built games and worlds on the platform. Intervals show up wherever time windows overlap: buff timers on an avatar, play sessions on a server, requests inside a rate window. Both families reward the same instinct, which is to touch only the part of the data that can change the answer rather than sorting everything in sight.
The algorithms here are canonical, so the pressure is not the trick, it is the finish. The coding rounds run in a shared editor. The recurring note from candidates is that one-shot correctness is what earns the round: code that compiles, clears the given tests, and covers the empty, single-element, and boundary cases the first time. A long stretch in the debugger reads worse than a slightly slower approach that lands clean. So a size-k heap you can write without fumbling, or an interval sweep you can set up in one pass, buys you the room the interviewer wants for the follow-up.
